Better Late than Never and Better Early than Late: The Release of the First Round of Regular Decision Offers.

Dear Champlain College Applicants, Parents, and Guidance Counselors:

My name is Chris Perlongo, Director of Admissions at Champlain College.  As someone new to campus – I’ve been with the College since August – I’m incredibly excited to make the following announcement.

Thanks to the amazing work of the Undergraduate Admissions team, we have begun to release our regular admission decisions as of this past Thursday, February 10th, 2016.   While we have a way to go in reviewing over 4,200 applications, we are a full month ahead of schedule in notifying our students who are ever so anxiously waiting for their decisions.  Our official notification date for Regular Decision candidates is still the middle of March, so decisions will be rolling out through this time frame.

Note that our admission decisions will be released in waves, so I want to provide some clarity in our process.

For students who will be offered admission at this time, a packet of materials – including an official admission letter – have and will continue to be traditionally mailed on a rolling basis from now through the end of March.  Admission decisions will not be posted online, and are only available over the phone after March 15th.

Scholarship and financial aid awards will be mailed separately. This mailing is anticipated to follow within two weeks of your admission decision, with the first awards being mailed during the first week of March. Don’t forget to complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at if you haven’t done so already.

If you do not receive a decision now, it likely means one of two scenarios:

  • That your file is still being considered by the admissions committee.
  • That your file is incomplete.

Please feel free to contact us should you have concern that your file is incomplete for any reason as your admission counselor can assist you with any questions that you may have surrounding your file and our process.

We are incredibly grateful of your interest in joining the Champlain College community and are fully aware that this time can be stressful, but realize that we take the decision process very seriously.  We are not only admitting the Class of 2020 but a whole new group of alumni who will become a permanent part of the Champlain narrative…and a part of our lives. These are big decisions, and we will do our very best to provide you with an outcome soon so you too can make your own big decision on where to take this critically important next step in your life.

We will be following up with information on events for admitted students in the coming weeks, so we hope that you will be a frequent visitor to the site. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly or leave a comment below and we will respond as soon as we are able.

Hopefully we’ll hear from you, as you’ll be hearing from us soon!
