The Champlain College Accounting Club was created to act as a communication network for Champlain College Accounting students. We as an organization strive to help fellow students build meaningful relationships with Certified Public Accountants and other professionals in Vermont’s accounting community. We use resources available to us to support each other’s academic and career pursuits. We also use the club to stay connected and are working to develop a sustainable program so that future Champlain Accounting students can have the same level of support through their college experience!”

We worked for two years to get a ski racing team going, and this year the stars aligned and the Champlain Ski Club finally took flight. Our first race was at Sunday River in Maine a week after New Years. Our men’s team won the Giant Slalom, with skier , Nick, coming in 1st place, Zach in 3rd, and I came in 9th.

“Nick and Zach were waiting in the finish area, and I heard a girl say to one of her friends ‘What’s Champlain College? That’s a funny name.  Never heard of it, but I think they won.’ It was then that I realized just how important this team can be for building a better name for our college, and I felt a tremendous sense of pride.

All we need are a few good first year students for the 2017-2018 season and we will easily make nationals. And we especially need more people for our women’s team, so Molly doesn’t have to compete alone. Joining our team is easy. Visit our Facebook page called Champlain College Alpine Ski Racing Team. We will additionally be at the Student Activities Fair.

“Anyone with skis and a helmet is welcome to attend our training sessions and even race. We had skiers among us this year who had raced for their entire lives, but we also had those who had never been in a race course. We designed our club to accommodate all skiers, with the goal of helping everyone reach their full potential. I highly encourage anyone looking for a fun experience, both on and off the hill, to sign up!”

The Champlain College Rock Climbing Club is both fun and inclusive for all levels of climbers.  We climb three days a week: Tuesday nights and Friday nights at Metrorock in Essex, Vermont, and Saturdays at Petra Cliffs in Burlington, VT. The club meets in the IDX parking lot and provides rides to and from the gym. The Rock Climbing Club is open to anybody with any level of experience, even if you don’t have any!

“In addition to our weekly climbing, we do fun events, such as movie nights, gym overnights and ice climbing.  Although the club meets three times a week, you don‘t have to attend each time to be part of the club. Members are welcome to come as frequently as they would like. Keep up to date with the club on Facebook and visit our Champlain College Rock Climbing Club page and check us out on our Instagram @climbchamplain.”
